On the Edge (2005): The problems of a family that had always seemed to be on the verge of a breakdown as the result of parental incompatibility are brought to a head by the actions of the two inseparable daughters, angry and wild due to their upbringing. When the younger daughter, Judy, is injured in a catastrophic accident, the last grasp this family had on normalcy and sanity vanishes. Vanilla Sky (2007): David Aames takes all he has for granted; his wealth, his inherited publishing company, his good looks - his relationships. Especially his relationships. It catches up to him when a friend/sometimes sex-partner Julianna 'Julie' Gianni can't see their relationship the way he sees it. From the point he takes a bold chance at love with "moth girl" Sofia Serrano, the movie takes a Lynchian twist that ultimately and literally pulls us into Aames' tortured psyche. (Libby)
High Fidelity (2007): Based on the novel by Nick Hornby. Rob Gordon is the owner of a semi-failing record store in Chicago where he sells music the old fashioned way- on vinyl. He's a self-professed music junkie who spends his days at Championship Vinyl with his two employees Dick and Barry. Although they have an encyclopedic knowledge of pop music and are consumed with the music scene and creating their all-time favorite top-five lists of subject specific songs, it's of no help to Rob whose needle skips the love groove when his long-time girlfriend Laura walks out on him. As Rob examines his failed attempts at romance and happiness the process finds him being dragged kicking and screaming into adulthood. (Penny Hardwick - Number two on the top five breakup list)

Saved from a life-and-death situation by a man in a Guy Fawkes mask who calls himself V, she learns a general summary of V's past and, after a time, decides to help him bring down those who committed the atrocities that led to Britain being in the shape that it is in. (Ruth)
The Princess Bride (2008): The Princess Bride is a timeless tale that pits country against country, good against evil, love against hate. This incredibly journey and artfully rendered love story is peppered with strange beasties monstrous and gentle, memorable surprises both terrible and sublime, and such unforgettable characters as Westley, the handsome farm boy who risks death (and much worse) for the woman he loves; Inigo, the Spanish swordsman who lives only to avenge his father's life; Fezzik, the gentlest giant ever to have uprooted a tree with his bare hands; Vizzini, the evil Sicilian, with a mind so keen he's foiled by his own perfect logic; Prince Humperdink, the evil ruler of Guilder, who has an equally insatiable thirst for war and the beauteous Buttercup; Count Rugen, the evilest man of all, who thrives on the excruciating pain of others; Miracle Max, the King's ex-Miracle Man, who can raise the dead (kind of); and, of course Buttercup, the princess bride, the most perfect, beautiful woman in the history of the world. (Princess Buttercup)
